We offer inquiry-based workshops, after-school programs, week-long camps, and STEM-centric birthday parties. Throughout all our programming, we focus on activating natural curiosities, helping kids make exciting discoveries while learning more about the STEM world around them. Kids (ages 5 to 14) uncover the dynamic power and potential of STEM subjects through projects featuring robotics, experimental design, engineering, computer coding, and more. While moving from idea generation to implementation, kids work independently and collaboratively to solve complex, real-world problems. At Kids STEM Studio, the world’s future STEMists are born.

Our focus is to offer the best possible learning through hands-on, project-based activities that grant students an opportunity to solve real-world problems through out-of-the-box thinking and develop the skills that are necessary to excel in the technologically-advanced world.
Over the past decade, you’ve probably heard the term “STEM” in conversations about education. In short, it stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Taken together, these subjects are the foundations of fields from healthcare to computer programming and are a vital component of modern education. However, integrating these studies gives children skills useful in any subject, including critical thinking, inquiry, problem solving and creativity.
Learning STEM is perfectly suited to kids’ natural desires to explore, experiment and get a little messy. It promotes thinking outside the box, looking at challenges from different angles and rewriting the narrative on setbacks as an opportunity to learn something new. STEM fields are growing around the country and are responsible for some of the most exciting and game-changing discoveries of the 21st century. Getting kids engaged in STEM early on gives them the confidence to try new things, take risks, advocate for their education and participate in authentic learning just like scientists in the field.
Our kids will dive into the exciting world of robotics with hands-on programming, building, troubleshooting and operating activities. Classes utilize LEGO® Mindstorms and WeDo programs as well as traditional building techniques all while growing students’ skills in design, problem-solving and critical thinking. Students will gain confidence and a one-of-a-kind learning experience as they watch their creations take shape, from a simple idea to a working robot with motors and sensors.
Our kids learn about real-world engineering with hands-on tinkering that will challenge them to use their intelligence and creativity to apply the concepts being discussed. Problem-solving, innovation and experimentation take center stage as students take an authentic turn as young engineers themselves. Kids design and build their own switchboards, electric cars, towers and bridges, rockets, windmills, dynamos, and much, much more. For all of these projects, our students will use everyday objects to create feats of engineering mastery that they can take home and explain!
Computer literacy has become a vital part of the modern world. Our kids will begin to learn web designing and programming concepts to create animated stories and computer games. Each of these will allow students to exercise problem-solving skills, while also transforming them from a consumer of technology to a creator of technology!
One of our most popular classes! We use Minecraft, which every kid loves, in order to teach them more about game development and computer programming. Students learn all about creating unique java commands, recipe and tool mods, and world building with 3D structures. Our program focuses on giving students a world where they don’t have to worry about the survival part of Minecraft, but rather on the exciting design and building parts!
Students will explore the physical world through inquiry and experimental design with these science-forward courses. Science isn’t inaccessible or irrelevant to kids’ lives – instead, we teach science as a way of thinking and uncovering new discoveries. By teaching the nature of science, we prepare kids for further explorations in biology, physics, chemistry and beyond.
We offer Hands on Science, Hands on Engineering, Lego Robotics and Coding as a part of after school programming at Schools in Chicago, Oak Park, Evanston and Skokie. Our custom curriculum not only develops technical skills in STEM but also other skills students need to succeed, such as independence, collaboration, questioning, problem solving, and critical thinking. We run our classes in fall, winter and spring with new content every year and every season for students to enroll continuously.
Our fast-paced and rigorous STEM workshops and technical assistance enable us to fast track the science and Engineering proficiency for kids, including igniting their enthusiasm and creativity as well as high-order thinking skills. Our workshop programs are customized to meet kids’ curiosity in STEM, to encourage lifelong preparation and learning for the future.
Our workshop programs are conducted on Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings: always very flexible.
We offer integrated STEM camps during Spring Break, Winter Break, Summer Break and various days of non-attendance (Day-Off) through out the school year, where we combine outdoor exploration at the local parks, lab work, computing, engineering and robotics around a variety of themes.
Our STEM-focused summer camps are for K to 8th grade, combining fun and learning with an unforgettable experience. The camps teach the kids to think and work like real scientists, engineers, developers and creative designers. Our kids get to work on cool projects, hands-on activities, engage in fun and developing real-world products and digital creation. We also place more emphasis on non-tech activities like games, nature activities, challenges and local trips.
These are camps during the Winter and Spring Break. They are open to kids with at least 5 years. Kids will be challenged to brainstorm ways to test and see if their ideas are realistic. Students will have fun while learning! Explore science, technology, engineering, and math. They will solve problems and develop solutions for day-to-day life and workplace.
These are camps during the school day off, which our kids can use to strengthen their skills in STEM learning. They are aimed at inspiring kids in their lives to explore and investigate STEM concepts. These camps involve hands-on activities that are engaging, informative and representing a range of STEM disciplines.
